Data Collection Standards

Participants collect data from their operations and store the data in various tracking systems, such as paper files, spreadsheets, and databases. The Standards and Practices listed below provide guidelines for collecting data that will ensure that data is consistent among the Participants.

  • Minimum and General Data Sets

For each PCP installation, information can be collected for a large number of parameters describing the installation, such as the characteristics of the equipment, the operating conditions, and the equipment run-time.

The Minimum Data Set defines the minimum list of parameters necessary for a record in PCP-RIFTS to be considered complete. The General Data Set, which includes the Minimum Data Set, defines a reasonably broad list of the parameters that, desirably, all future PCP-RIFTS records should include.
